Fishing is fun! Nothing beats spending time outdoors fishing a lake, stream, or even the deep blue sea. I remember my father teaching me how to fish. The thrill I experienced when a "tug" came on the end of my line - what an adrenaline rush! "Dad, I got one!" We reeled the fish in together. What we shared was a memory which will last my lifetime.
But if I want my son to share the same experience with his family one day, we have to teach our kids to respect and preserve the natural resources around us. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation the natural resources across this great country are under extreme pressure from intensive agriculture and urbanization. They have also been adversely impacted by illegal dumping and pollution. Let's face it, how many times have you fished a stream or lake and saw a soda can, old tire or dumped appliance? Kids don't want to fish in that kind of environment and neither do we.
We can do something about it! Our local Fish and Wildlife Conservation Department issued this informative announcement on ways groups of volunteers can get together to make a difference. We can cleanup litter and trash from our rivers and streams. Here are a few highlights:
1. Always contact the landowner of the property that the stream, lake or river runs through which your group has chosen to clean.
2. Always take before photos as well as after photos so that your teams' accomplishments can be shared. This will help to inspire additional participants when you organize a second cleanup effort.
3. After your group cleans up the area and properly disposes of the trash, send thank you notes to all participants. This is most important!

You can find fishing address labels and many other themed stationery items that your entire family will enjoy while shopping our fun personalized stationery store. Personalize a set of address labels to place on some matching thank you notes to send to all of your group cleanup participants! Choose the fishing lure address label image as shown above and enjoy.
Make it a Great Day Fishing!
